From Our Community to Netflix: TJ James and American High’s Minimum Wage
At Acorn Hills, we’ve always believed that a brand is only as strong as the community surrounding it. Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to meet incredible founders, creators, entrepreneurs, and people who simply care about what they do.
TJ James is one of those people.
And now, his work is headed to Netflix.
TJ recently worked as Sound Supervisor for American High’s upcoming Netflix series, Minimum Wage, adding another exciting chapter to a journey built around creativity, entrepreneurship, and storytelling.
From American High to Netflix
Minimum Wage began as a short-form comedy from American High before growing into a full Netflix series. Set inside a chaotic pizza shop, the workplace comedy follows teenage employees as they navigate customers, coworkers, managers, and everything that comes with working a minimum-wage job.
The series will bring some familiar faces along for the ride, including well-known actor Randall Park, who plays Mr. Sylvester, the eccentric boss of the pizza shop.
Behind everything audiences eventually see on screen, however, is a team of talented people helping bring the production to life.
And one of those people is TJ.
More Than a Credit
While seeing TJ’s name attached to a Netflix production is something worth celebrating, it’s only one piece of what makes him such an important part of our community.
TJ is a founder, podcaster, creative, and entrepreneur. More importantly, he’s someone who consistently supports the people around him.
That’s something we value tremendously at Acorn Hills.
Our community has never simply been about clothing. It’s about the relationships formed along the way and connecting people who are willing to create something, take chances, support one another, and see where their ideas can take them.
TJ represents exactly that.
Whether he’s behind a microphone, building his own ventures, supporting other creators, or working behind the scenes on a major production, he continues to show what’s possible when you keep creating and putting in the work.
Celebrating One of Our Own
There are countless people behind every television production who help transform an idea into something millions of people can experience.
We’re incredibly proud to see someone from our community contributing to a project at this level.
But this story is about more than Netflix.
It’s about celebrating the people around us when they win.
It’s about recognizing the founders, creatives, entrepreneurs, podcasters, artists, and dreamers who make communities like ours special.
And sometimes, it’s about taking a moment to look around and say:
Look what one of our own is doing.
TJ, congratulations on Minimum Wage. We’re proud to have you as part of the Acorn Hills community, and we’re even more excited to see where your journey takes you next.
Keep creating. Keep building. And keep making some noise.
