Cultivating Creativity: A Collaboration with Mount Aloysius College Design Students
At Acorn Hills, we’ve always believed in growing more than just a clothing brand—we believe in growing people, purpose, and partnerships. That’s why when two graphic design students from Mount Aloysius College, Kaylee Mento and Sam Thomas, reached out as part of their MKTG 364 course, we were excited to say YES!!!
Their final assignment in MKTG 364 was to create branding and design materials for a real company or organization . They chose Acorn Hills—not just for our aesthetic, but for our mission. We could not have been more honored! Over the course of their research, they studied our eco-conscious approach, our community initiatives like tree planting and seed paper tags, and the look and feel that come to define our outdoor-inspired brand.
But we didn’t want this to just be a mock-up on paper. That’s too easy!!!
With careful planning, Kaylee and Sam had the chance to bring their work to life through the creation of a 1-of-1 exclusive piece—a physical item that showcased their design and would accompany their final presentation. From initial drafts to the finished product, we worked closely with them to ensure their vision aligned with the spirit of Acorn Hills.
The result? A meaningful fusion of student creativity and our commitment to sustainability, design, and community. It’s more than a project—it’s a reminder that brands don’t grow in isolation. They grow when you invest in others.
We’re proud to have played a small role in Kaylee and Sam’s journey and look forward to supporting more student creators who want to make their mark on the world—one design at a time.
